Custom QAR

The 'Custom QAR' feature in Strata allows admin users to create a new QAR with a custom choice of reporting period. This may be useful at certain points of the year to compare your current QAR to one which you have created for the equivalent point in the preceding year.

As an example let's create a new Custom QAR for QAR period 22/23 and include, as the final ILR, the R09 of 22/23. Our aim is then to have that to compare with our current live QAR which is a 23/24 QAR and we have just imported our R09 ILR of 23/24.

Open the Setting screen and from the menu pick 'Custom QAR'. You will then see the screen below:

Then pick the reporting period and Max ILR 22/23 as shown. Note you may call this new QAR whatever you wish, so change the title accordingly. Do not pick a Max ILR 23/24 option as we are trying to create this new custom QAR as a mirror of where we were last year - when of course we did not at that point have any 23/24 ILRs imported. *Please note that the ILRs you pick on this screen must have been imported previously - if not then the nearest ILR from that year of a period less than the desired return will be used instead.

Once that is done click the 'Apply Changes' button. Now this new QAR's data will be calculated in the background while you carry on using Strata. You may come back to this screen to see when the new QAR is ready or alternatively keep an eye on the notification bell at the top of Strata, a new notification will appear there once the data is ready.

When your new Custom QAR is ready you can select it as you would any of the other QARs in your reports:

Note that as always you can click on the 'Show ILR files used...' button when changing the reporting period on your report to double-check what ILRs files have been used for that period.

Another area in Strata where you can make use of your new Custom QAR is the Compare Performance screen. Choose comparison option: 'Self' then pick your new Custom QAR. This is a fast and convenient way to see how your current leaver and achievement rates measure up to the period you used for your Custom QAR.
